What data we collect

We collect your email address when you create an account. We collect the content of your session conversations with the AI, the content of your journal entries, mood values you log against daily check-ins, and usage patterns such as how often you start a session and which session type you choose. We do not collect any data we do not need to run the service.

How we use it

We use your data to provide the service you have signed up for. That means storing your sessions so the AI can build context across them, generating responses from your messages, and constructing your Program over time. Your Program is the running map of the subconscious patterns the AI has identified, and it only works if your past conversations remain accessible to it.

AI and data processing

Conversations are processed by Anthropic's API in order to generate the AI responses you see. We do not use your data to train AI models. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to the data they receive for API processing. Anthropic does not retain your conversations for training and operates under their own data protection commitments.

Data retention

On the Free plan, your session history and Program memory are retained for 30 days. On the Pro plan, retention extends to 12 months. You can delete your entire account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page. Once you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our active systems.

Data security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest within our database infrastructure, which is provided by Supabase. Access to production systems is restricted and authenticated. We follow standard industry practices for protecting personal data of this kind.

Third parties

We rely on a small set of trusted third parties to run Cove. Supabase provides our database and authentication. Anthropic provides the AI that powers session responses. Stripe processes subscription payments. Vercel hosts the application. No data is sold to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers or analytics brokers.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate data, and to request deletion of your data. You can exercise these rights directly from the Settings page or by emailing hello@cove.app. We respond to requests within a reasonable period and at the latest within 30 days.

Mental health data

We treat the contents of your sessions and journal entries with the highest sensitivity. This data is never shared with employers, insurers, advertisers, or any third party outside the processors listed above. It is not used to make any decision about you outside of providing the service. If we are ever compelled by law to disclose this data, we will resist and notify you to the extent legally permitted.
